Daily edition · Site add-on — checkpoint and closure schedules
Published November 7, 2026 · TruckRescueNow daily edition — Day 6
The November 10 operation is a schedule item, not a results item — nothing about Tuesday is written here as if it had happened. What can be written is the base it stands on: two October operations on the same ground, run in mild weather, that contacted 703 commercial drivers.
Of those, 262 were cited. Sixty-three citations were chain violations under Colorado's must-carry law, and 119 professional drivers were stopped and cited for failing to stop at the operation itself — checked for chains while they were there. CSP's own compliance figure for the must-carry rules: 91%.
The penalties as reported ride with the schedule: up to $500 plus a $79 surcharge for noncompliance, and $1,000 plus $157 if a noncompliant truck gets stuck and blocks a traveled portion of the road. Colorado's commercial must-carry season runs September 1 to May 31 — the carry check happens before the climb, in clear weather, which is the entire design of the operation.
ODOT's I-5 work closes the interstate in full, at night, three times this month — and the first window, southbound at Tigard, opens Monday night, November 9–10, two nights from now. All three windows run 1 to 4 a.m.: Tigard southbound first, then northbound in North Portland November 11–12, then northbound at Wilsonville November 19–20.
The Tigard detail, as reported: all southbound lanes closed between SW Carman Drive and SW Boones Ferry Road, with a signed detour via Exit 291 and SW 72nd Avenue. The work is variable-message-sign replacement — the signs themselves are being rebuilt, on the nights they are dark.
For a driver whose run crosses Portland after midnight, these are plan-around dates, not trivia: a 1 a.m. closure met by surprise costs the detour anyway, plus the hour of rest the surprise was taken from.
This page is the standing board's update for the week: one enforcement operation three days out, three closure nights starting in two, and a 2027 enforcement calendar already fixed. Schedules publish here because drivers search for them by date — 'when is the operation,' 'when does I-5 close' — and a dated answer is a roadside service before any truck rolls.
The full 2027 calendar is in the CVSA 2027 blitz calendar, the Thurston County fatigue patrol dates are carried in today's final-day Drowsy Driving Prevention Week piece, and what actually happens in a DOT roadside inspection is the stop itself, explained before it happens to you.
